The International University Foundation Programme (UFP) The Feats Academy aims to provide local/international students and overseas institutions opportunity to utilize its programmes with the objective of ensuring effective entry to The Feats’ partner universities. Progression to all university degree subjects is available through The Feats’ Academy pathway programmes in collaboration with our partners abroad and placement services. For example, FEATS is one major company which provides direct routes through to Medicine or Dentistry via its programmes and services.

1. CORE STUDIES

Research Skills, Study Skills, IT for university, Core Mathematics.

2. ACADEMIC MODULES

Students take three academic modules at UK A level standard according to their intended degree pathway; …for an Engineering Degree the student would take; Maths, Physics and one other

...for a Business degree the student could take; Economics, Accounting and one other

...for a Medical degree the student must take; Biology, Chemistry, Maths or Physics

UNIVERSITY FOUNDATION PROGRAMME

For Bachelor Degree Entry: In order to gain entry to study on to a Three Year Bachelor With Honours Degrees in the UK OR to gain Credit Exemptions from the First Year of a Four Year Bachelor Degree, an International High School Certificate student must first complete an Advanced Academic program (University Foundation Programme OR A’ level) to gain enough education at Level 3 and the correct English language level through IELTS test of English.

Feats Education University Foundation Programme Structure

MAIN DEGREE PATHWAYS - ACADEMIC MODULE COMBINATIONS

These are the main broad degree route categories requested by international university foundation students. However any student degree pathway request that falls outside of these broad categories will have an Individual Learning Plan (ILP) built out of the available subject modules for the courses running at the centre, as suitable for that specific degree pathway. Remembering that as with A levels that several subject combinations are acceptable for entry to many degrees.

TEACHING AND LEARNING STYLES

Throughout the Feats Academy University Foundation Programme the modules are taught using seminars, tutorials, formal classes and lectures to mirror the style of teaching and learning at university

ASSESSMENT AND SUPPORT

Progress is monitored on a continuous basis through critically marked course work and class tests. The final grade for each unit is based on a combination of course work and end of term tests. Students can retake some tests to improve their marks if necessary. English Language is assessed externally by IELTS and students will take the test during their course to record their progression.

Course Grades

A = 71%; B = 61-70% ; C = 56-60%; D = 51-55%;E = 41-51%; U = 0-40% While a E Grade is the minimum pass grade different universities will require different grades for different degree subjects.

PROGRAMME LENGTH AND TEACHING HOURS

The standard Feats UFP is 3 terms of 30 – 36 weeks and teaching hours are 30 hours which comprises of 20 hours tuition per week and 10 hours guided study.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS AGE:

15+ years

academic entry Requirement:

Graduation from High School.

If a student has not performed well at school we may be able to assist with a longer programme.

ENGLISH LANGUAGE REQUIREMENT:

1 IELTS or Feats Test of English. This primarily determines the length of the student’s course

3 term Standard programme = IELTS 4.5 or equivalent for entry (30 weeks)

2 term Intensive programme = IELTS 5.5 or equivalent for entry (20 weeks)

4 term Extended programme= IELTS 4.0 or equivalent for entry (40weeks)

Students lower than IELTS 4.0 or equivalent will need to study General English fist at The Feats Academy.

ENTRY POINTS

The Feats University Foundation Programme is a ROLL-on- ROLL-off programme so students can start every 10 – 12 weeks.

MAIN ENTRY POINTS ARE;

SEPT – JANUARY – APRIL – JUNE

These are designed to meet up with university entry points at the end of a student’s Feats Education University Foundation Programme.
